Wyandanch Flower of Honor at ICS Restoration. Address: 1500A Straight Path Wyandanch, New York 11798
This initiative celebrates the pillars of Long Island, New York, hamlet in Wyandanch, who've kept the community thriving throughout the covid-19 crisis and beyond.
The Wyandanch Flower of Honor's title is inspired by the United States government’s highest and most prestigious military award, the Medal of Honor. This public art installation celebrates the leaders of Wyandanch, who stood resilient in the face of adversity during the COVID-19 crisis in 2020. Photographer and curator, Harper Bella, shares the experiences of residents, local businesses, and community organizations, uniting to ensure the progress of this village. This project reflects upon their efforts and innovative solutions that kept Wyandanch developing during the pandemic and continue to shape its future.
Bella's objective is to acknowledge the enduring spirit of Wyandanch and the unity that emerged during the pandemic and continues to evolve.
On view from June 9, 2023 – June 16, 2028.
